Ralph Lauren brings APAC together for cancer awareness with a digital Ping Pong

Updated: Dec 1, 2022

Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Campaign merges the love for sport, community and charity with the launch of a digital table tennis game across Asia in support of Pink cancer awareness month. First launched in 2000, the Pink Pony campaign has set foot in its mission to reduce the disparity in cancer care and continues to stand for its cause with a modern approach this season.

Engaging with fans in Asia, Ralph Lauren takes on a localised campaign centred around table tennis, also known as 'Ping Pong', for the 2022 Pink Pony campaign. Just like much of Asian culture where people get to exercise, compete and bond at parks and sports centres, the Ping Pong game is now adapted digitally for fans around the globe to enjoy.

Throughout the APAC region, the Ralph Lauren Ping Pong game brings players together to interact, play and support from countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and China to connect through a familiar sport while raising awareness. To compete for the top score, players can initiate the game by entering through a referral link or scanning the QR code using their mobile device. From there, take a pick from different paddles inspired by five Pink Pony designs and simply swing the Ping Pong paddle by swiping your finger in a timely manner – just like the game in real life.

Making the phygital experience possible, Ralph Lauren collaborates with CONTEN.T – an award-winning agency for digital experience, gamifications and all things web3.

Aside from designing and launching the game to life, CONTEN.T puts its own spin for a competitive edge to the Ralph Lauren Ping Pong game. With every attempt, players across the APAC region can engage, contribute and make their mark on a regional leaderboard from their smartphone device. Scorers above 250 points are entitled to redeem a set of Pink Pony Ping Pong balls at participating outlets across Asia. Throughout this campaign, Ralph Lauren also commits to donating SGD 1/MYR 1 to a local cancer foundation with every new submission.

Stepping up their game in the APAC region, the Ralph Lauren Ping Pong game is one of many projects CONTEN.T has taken on to make available for customers to engage in. Fans can now 'Play' their part to donate from eight regions, including the China consumer market.

"We've delivered projects across APAC, US, Europe, India and Dubai. Entering China digitally is one of the most challenging ones due to its multilayered compliance and regulations within the country, this is a breakthrough to a gigantic market for us," says Jason Ang, Founder and Managing Director of CONTEN.T.

To support the cause and be in the running to win exclusive Ralph Lauren merchandise, join in the fun and play the Ralph Lauren Ping Pong game here for Singapore and Malaysia. All proceeds from the Pink Pony collection will be donated in support of Ralph Lauren's fight against cancer.
