A Closer Look at RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 Collection in Collaboration with Akashi Murakami

RTFKT has collaborated with artist Takashi Murakami to release a limited-edition collection of 10 RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1s, with each design inspired by the DNA types in RTFKT's Clone X avatar project.

In a world where digital and physical worlds are becoming increasingly intertwined, RTFKT and Nike have taken the sneaker game to the next level with their latest collaboration. The brands have teamed up with legendary artist Takashi Murakami to launch an exclusive collection of 10 RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1s, inspired by the 10 DNA types in RTFKT's Clone X anime-inspired avatar project.

Each sneaker in the collection is uniquely designed and crafted with premium materials, showcasing exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship, such as pigmented leather, and folded lenticular accents, The sneakers incorporate never-before-seen materials and finishes, from the Black Hole Black finish to the Lenticular and Alien midsole wraps.

Sold as an NFT, each sneaker in the collection features an embedded RTFKT WM Chip (World Merging NFC Chip) that links the NFT to the NFC, connecting the digital and physical worlds. The chip also provides authentication capabilities, ensuring each sneaker is unique and genuine.

The first batch of NFTs are sold, but are still available for sale on the secondary platform, OpenSea. If someone purchases a sneaker NFT from this collection, they will be eligible to redeem a physical pair during the Forging event, which is taking place on RTFKT.com from April 24th to May 8th.

RTFKT is the pioneer of the Forging event, which allows NFT holders to exchange their digital asset for a physical product. During the Forging event, those who own a sneaker NFT from the Pre-Forged collection will be able to order a physical pair of sneakers in their preferred size. This event is a one-time opportunity, and the sneakers are made to order.

On April 30th, RTFKT and Takashi Murakami will showcase the 10 sneakers at the Gesai event in Japan. The event will give sneakerheads and collectors alike a chance to get up close and personal with these incredible works of art.

Murakami designed two pairs in the collection, showcasing his iconic art style on the Drop and DNA editions. The rest of the sneakers in the collection are no less impressive, each telling a unique story through its design.

The collaboration between RTFKT and Nike on the Air Force 1 sneakers, and Akashi Murakami, has garnered interest from sneaker enthusiasts and collectors due to the limited availability of each design. This collaboration merges the realms of fashion, technology, and art in a unique way, resulting in a notable creation that sets a new standard.
